The Institut Français de la Mode is the center in France for training research and expertise in the fashion-design and creative industries. It was set up on 1986 by the French Ministry of Industry in tandem with textile and fashion professionals and has since become a national and international reference for students, companies and professionals. The aim of the IFM is to accompany the development of the fashion and design industries by reinforcing skills and anticipating the changes to come. The Post-graduate Fashion Design Program aims to enable designers, managers and companies to synergize their talents running projects on all levels. It trains the designers of tomorrow at the crossroads of the creative and industrial worlds.
IFM & Design
“Between creative inspiration and technical perfection: this is the IFM Design school philosophy”, underlines Franc’ Pairon, Head of the design program
“With its twin specialization in fashion and accessories design, the Institute is a real bridge between the creative, management and industrial worlds. Each year, several of our partner companies make an active contribution to the development of prototypes: apparel, footwear, gloves, textile dry filling….Some of our Designer graduates are now working for Alexander McQueen, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Martin Margiela… Others, such as ES Orchestra, Esther Perbandt, and Jung-ho Geortay have created their own labels.”
