August 29, 2005 Modaris User Session Features New Advances in Pattern Design

ATLANTA, GA, August 29, 2005 – Lectra recently held user sessions at their New York office on July 18th and 19th for the latest release of their pattern design solution Modaris V5. Pattern designers and current Modaris users from the apparel industry were invited to hear how the solution’s new features could benefit and improve their work processes. Users also had the chance to learn more about ModarisExpert and the new Modaris Asset Manager option, as well as receive “tips & tricks” for the software. Over 60 users attended representing 18 apparel companies. Of those users attending, 100% of them responded as satisfied with the users meeting.

Because Lectra uses an interactive approach with their customers, using various resources to study and analyze customer requests for future development, they understand the customer’s work-flow and ensure that each new software update offers a real value. Companies can automatically benefit from a newly updated software’s improved functionality through Software Evolution. Utilizing this popular subscription-based service, Evolution customers are ensured continuous product and process improvements with regular and continual updates over the lifetime of the subscription.

Ina Taub, Marketing Project Manager, commented that “the attendees were eager to learn more about the new features and the benefits. Because they are Software Evolution customers, they not only have access to the latest release of software, but they also benefit from early release notifications, previews and user sessions like this one for Modaris V5.”

Among the featured topics discussed by Lectra’s Solution Experts were the new features of Modaris V5, Modaris Asset Manager and ModarisExpert. Users learned how new features such as the dynamic measurement chart, pre-recorded macros, import/export capabilities and dependent symmetry could help them save time by reducing pattern checking activities and recurring tasks, as well as ensuring pattern consistency and accuracy. They also learned that the Asset Manager option allows companies to capitalize on their existing patterns and increase their productivity. The ModarisExpert presentation illustrated the advanced pattern-making tool’s abilities for creating dependency between all pattern pieces, while at the same time automatically updating the pattern and grading corrections to all related pattern pieces. Users also saw the time-savings, perfect accuracy and quality they could achieve with ModarisExpert. Each attendee was provided a User Session packet that included information from the Tips & Tricks session, in addition to detailed information about the new features of Modaris V5 and ModarisExpert.

A recording of the sessions will be made available on CD. To receive a free copy, please contact marketing.usa@lectra.com.
