Lectra announced today the appointment of Guido Turco as PLM
Business Development Manager for Italy. He will be based in Milan,
reporting directly to Fabio Canali, Director of Lectra Italy, the
company’s largest subsidiary with 130 team members serving 3,000
customers. Guido Turco will be responsible for all Lectra PLM activity in
Italy. Specifically developed for the fashion markets and
officially launched in April 2006, Lectra’s PLM offering allows
companies to shorten lead times and reduce costs associated with
the conception of products in a context of permanently renewing
collections. Providing continuous decision-making support, it
rationalizes and improves the reliability of product development
processes, and assures the synchronization and traceability of
information flows. In addition, it optimizes the collaborative
modes used between contractors and suppliers. “I’m very proud to have the opportunity to manage the
development of Lectra’s PLM business in Italy,” Guido Turco
affirms. “Lectra’s new offering represents a technological leap
forward for the entire industry. The company is recognized for its
business expertise, its deep knowledge of fashion processes, and
its comprehensive understanding of the new challenges companies
face in the post-quota world.” Guido Turco brings more than 20 years of apparel industry
experience, including expertise in technical and sales processes as
well as project management, both strategic and operational. From
2000 to 2005 he was Senior Business Consultant at Assyst in Italy,
where he managed the technical development of the company’s PDM
software platform while at the same time developing the Italian
market. He designed a project-selling approach and managed all
phases of the company’s customer PDM projects, directing
organizational and functional analyses and monitoring their
implementation at customer sites. From 1985 to 2000 he was IT
Technical Manager at Gruppo Finanziario Tessile (GFT), where he
managed CAD/CAM and process engineering projects for PDM, and
created internal portals to enable customers to manage product
information. “I am extremely pleased that Guido Turco is joining
Lectra Italy,” said Fabio Canali. “He brings
significant apparel industry experience and exceptional personal
abilities. His knowledge and comprehension of the processes and
expectations of Italian fashion companies will contribute to the
development of our PLM activity in Italy, and also ensure
significant added-value to our customers,” he added. |
