 Design and Color Seminar at Parsons – New York

Lectra hosts industry experts to discuss Design and Color Management at Parsons, The New School for Design, November, 2nd 2011.
The seminar focused on challenges faced when working with color throughout the design process and the solutions that leading companies like The Limited Brands, Wal-mart and JCPenney’s have implemented to address those issues.

 Lectra, sponsor of the 27th IAF convention in Mexico

Lectra is a member of the board of IAF and has been attending and sponsoring its events for the last ten years. This year, the company was represented by Alex Alvarez, sales manager and Violeta Lopez, marketing associate from Lectra Mexico.
The 27th International Apparel Federation annual conference took place jointly with the 35th national congress of the Mexican apparel association CANAIVE – Camara Nacional Industria Vestido – in Riviera Nayarit, Puerto Vallarta, in Mexico from October 13-16. Over two hundred manufacturers, retailers, suppliers and press from 30 countries attended this year’s convention. Forums and conferences were organized around the theme of “transformation of the fashion business”, focusing on topics such as creative styling, the impact of economic developments, social networks and virtual dressing.
The convention was a great opportunity for us to strengthen relationships with some of our customers, and present our fashion solutions.

 November 9-10, 2010-Cologne, Germany - Lectra participated in Europe’s largest IT conference, the IMB Select 2010

This fall, Lectra participated in Europe’s largest IT conference, the IMB Select 2010—Fashion & Textiles: IT-Systems, Services and Strategies in Cologne, Germany on November 9 and 10. This year’s conference explored product developments for a post-crisis economy and the development of intelligent planning and information management along the supply chain.

Lectra presented its added-value solutions Lectra Fashion PLM, Kaledo, and Optiplan, in addition to promoting its partnership with X-Rite.

Lectra also gave presentations on production and design-specific topics from the textile and apparel industries in the IMB Select Forum & Speaker’s Corner.

 
 July 5, 2010-Berlin, Germany - Lectra: Sponsoring Competition for Young German Fashion Labels

Lectra participated in the first edition of the “German Fashion Film Award,” a competition for young German fashion labels. The German Fashion Film Award promotes young German designers who have been designing and selling their own collections for between two and eight years. Their labels will be promoted online and worldwide. An international jury selected the best five projects in three different categories: accessories, women’s fashion and men’s fashion. As an official partner of the event, Lectra is offering two software packages and training sessions as prizes for the winners of the German Fashion Film Award, in the women’s fashion and men’s fashion categories. The packages included, among others, Kaledo®, Lectra’s creative software solution for fashion and textile design. The winners were announced in Berlin on July 5, at the beginning of the Berlin Fashion Week; there were approximately 300 participants in the event.

 
 February 25, 2010 - Lectra Launches U.K. Student Competition, in Conjunction with Maria Grachvogel

This competition, specifically for fashion students at Lectra’s 35 education partner schools in the U.K., is offering the lucky winner the chance of an 6-12-month internship in Maria Grachvogel’ s London studio. To enter, the student must create a womenswear garment—from design to finished product—using Lectra technologies at some stage in the project.

Launched on February 1, the competition will close in May 2010. The initial selection will be made by course tutors and independent experts who will shortlist the most interesting projects. The finalists will attend an event in London and will be invited to present their design project to Maria Grachvogel, who will make the final decision.

 Invitation to Lectra's Fashion Roadshow on 29 September, Emtex Designer Forum

Lectra, the leading provider of integrated technology for the fashion and clothing industry is hosting a special open day demonstration event for our customers and invited guests.  The day is dedicated to demonstrating how the latest industry specific technology can facilitate garment creation processes from design to production, improve speed and save businesses both Time and Costs!

 A Special Kaledo Prize awarded during Mittelmoda 2009

This year, a new category has been added to the Mittelmoda International Lab fashion awards. Lectra, market leader in fashion software, has created a Kaledo award, specially for Lectra’s “Privilege” Partner Schools.
 
To be eligible for this special new prize, fashion design students from participant schools (Istituto Secoli, Istituto Modartech, Accademia del Lusso) who enter the Mittelmoda fashion awards competition in 2009 will be required to use Kaledo Suite to design a collection. They must present a collection of five garments, providing the trend board, color and fabric board, collection plan, storyboard and technical specifications for two of these five garments.

The Special Kaledo Prize 2009 will be awarded along with all the other prizes in September, during the fashion awards. The prize itself, contributed by Lectra Italia, consists of a license for Kaledo Style along with training in the use of the solution. 

 
 Fashioning the Future

How technology can help the fashion industry tighten its belt without becoming a fashion victim.
On July 7, 2009, in London’s stylish Covent Garden district, Lectra played host to around 30 of the U.K’s top fashion industry professionals. Bringing together the expertise of Malcolm Ball, Chairman of ASBCI, Neil Clarke of Clarks International, top couture designer Maria Grachvogel and Lectra’s own experts – Judy Gnaedig, Director of Strategic Projects and Anastasia Charbin, Design Product Manager, the prestigious event provided a forum for presentations and discussions around the theme, ‘Cutting Costs While Improving Product Availability—An Impossible Dream?’

 
 July 2, 2009 - Lectra and the Amsterdam Fashion Institute Sign Privilege Partnership

The signature of this partnership was announced by Veronique Zoccoletto, Chief Human Capital Officer and Chief Information Officer at Lectra and Nannet van der Kleijn, creative Director of AMFI, just before the Fashion Transit Event in the World Fashion Centre in Amsterdam, on June 25. This new step is the result of a strong cooperation between AMFI and Lectra over the past 2 years.

 

 
  June 29, 2009 - Lectra close to its partners at the Graduate Fashion Week 09 – London

This year’s Graduate Fashion week brought together 43 UK fashion design schools to showcase the collective talent of their graduating students. The exhibition, which launched the careers of John Galliano and Stella McCartney in previous years, also attracted the Vienna School of Art and the Amsterdam fashion Institute.

Lectra teams welcomed students, tutors and customers on their stand. Experts in design and pattern development were also on hand and kept busy giving presentations of the latest Lectra solutions such as the new version of Modaris for pattern making and the whole Kaledo range for fashion and textile design.
Twelve Lectra Education Partners were present at the 5-day event, which saw 18 catwalk shows and 2 gala shows. Two Lectra Advanced Education Partners were among the prize winners with Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication winning the Menswear Design and Textile Design Prizes and Manchester Metropolitan University winning the prize for Knitwear. This year’s Gold prize winner was Myrto Samou of University for the Creative Arts Rochester.
