 | | Lectra, major sponsor of the 2nd edition of 3D Body Scanning Technologies conference From October 25 to 26 2011, Lectra participated for the second time in the International Conference on 3D Body Scanning Technologies, in Lugano, Switzerland, as a major sponsor of this 2nd edition of the event. Jean-Marc Surville, from our software R&D department presented Lectra’s expertise in fashion and 3D technology. Not only did he chair the technical sessions on Body scanning for apparel conference, he also gave two technical lectures: one on “posture, 3D real body, and virtual try-on” in the garment draping simulation session and the 2nd on “group classes and measurements”, as part of the digital anthropometry session.
Lectra took the opportunity to preview our Modaris V7R1 solution. Its unique 3D prototyping capabilities enable apparel companies to drape their patterns on any 3D body-scanned fit model or wooden mannequins, or embedded customizable 3D avatars, by taking fabrics mechanical properties into account and then to apply prints, knit, weaves, colors and visuals for garment technical validation and style approval.

Lectra is a member of the board of IAF and has been attending and sponsoring its events for the last ten years. This year, the company was represented by Alex Alvarez, sales manager and Violeta Lopez, marketing associate from Lectra Mexico.
The 27th International Apparel Federation annual conference took place jointly with the 35th national congress of the Mexican apparel association CANAIVE – Camara Nacional Industria Vestido – in Riviera Nayarit, Puerto Vallarta, in Mexico from October 13-16. Over two hundred manufacturers, retailers, suppliers and press from 30 countries attended this year’s convention. Forums and conferences were organized around the theme of “transformation of the fashion business”, focusing on topics such as creative styling, the impact of economic developments, social networks and virtual dressing.
The convention was a great opportunity for us to strengthen relationships with some of our customers, and present our fashion solutions.
