Joy Zhao, head of human resources for Lectra China
Joy, what differentiates Lectra?
Lectra is a global leader in the market it operates in: CAO, FAO and related services for fashion, automotive and furniture companies. Its prominent position in this high tech niche market is mainly due to its consistently high investment in R&D, but also to its philosophy: partnering with customers in the long term to help them achieve operational efficiency, or even transform their business.
What drives candidates towards Lectra China?
What makes candidates tick varies with the roles. Sales people appreciate our consultative selling approach and the long-term partnerships we develop with our customers. Quick, one-shot deals is not the way we work! Professional services consultants are excited at the prospect of helping our customers – mostly forward-looking players in fast-moving industries – transform their business and take it to the next level. Lectra is also a great place to work for marketing professionals, with large, complete and well-structured marketing teams.
Most of our new hires are senior and value the fact that Lectra expect strategic thinking from them. They are aware that sales, professional services and marketing teams played – and keep playing – a central part in the group’s own transformation.
What do you do to help new talent feel at home at Lectra China?
For all new talent joining the group, Lectra organizes very comprehensive onboarding seminars in Bordeaux, France. In addition, Lectra China has developed a local welcome program called “Brothers and Sisters”. Senior Lectra employees from a different function can volunteer to act as an elder sibling for new hires to help them settle in their new environment and feel comfortable as quickly as possible. This also is a pleasant and informal way to ask for information or be introduced to Lectra culture. Retaining our top talent is a key priority for us.
