Even though CSR came into existence as far back as 1953 when Howard Bowen, an American economist published a book called "Social Responsibilities of a Businessman", it has only been gaining ground in the recent years. Meanwhile, the term “Industry 4.0” was coined more than a decade ago by the German government and popularized during the World Economic Forum.
In Lectra’s perspective, we strongly believe that these two worlds are fundamentally intertwined. According to the German government, Industry 4.0 actually brings the consumer closer to the factory, connecting all process stakeholders from design to storefront through automation with the cloud, artificial intelligence, big data and the Internet of Things.
